At twenty-four, Harlow Robinson has run headfirst into a quarter-life crisis. Her high school girlfriends have dropped like flies, one wedding after another, forcing her into panic mode. It’s fight or flight time, and flight wins—literally. She breaks off a loveless engagement with her childhood sweetheart and abandons a teaching degree to become a flight attendant for Omega Skies.

Now Harlow is living her best glamorous, single life as a self-proclaimed sky muffin, at least that’s how it appears from the outside. But 3:00AM wakeup calls and nights alone in hotels make the days blend into a blur of loneliness. When her seven roommates sign her up for the dating app Sparks, Harlow finds herself navigating an entirely new lifestyle with more men than she can handle.

What’s a girl to do? Date them all, of course.
From New York Times bestseller, Wendy Higgins, comes her first contemporary adult romcom. Please sit back and keep your seatbelts fastened because this will be a bumpy ride. Enjoy your flight.

My Review: UGH what the heck did I just read?!

Harlow is an amazingly done character and I loved every minute of her. But right now, she has a little crisis. Graduated school to be a teacher, broke up with her boyfriend and then up and left to become a flight attendant. Yup, perfectly normal...but it works out. She's having a good time, has great friends/roommates.

So far, life is good. Yes, she would love to actually teach at some point, but right now, flying ain't all that bad. On one trip, everyone is delayed due to a storm, so the crew and passengers are stuck at a local hotel for the night. Doesn't seem too bad though, the pilot is a good friend to her and the passengers happen to be really cool and kind marines. The night goes pretty well. Harlow hangs out with the marines, especially a really kind and good looking CO. They along well, bond and then bam! He's got a fiance back home. Yup, there go any of those thoughts.

Some time goes by and Harlow went from a dating app, to a lousy night to having a hunky marine all to herself. Bu just as quickly as he came, Shawn is gone. Harlow is hurt, ends up in a moment of heat with a good friend and everything goes upside down.

Harlow has great friends and support, she can make it through this. Plus a wonderful trip to Paris doesn't hurt either. Once she's back, things start to fall back into place slowly.

Then, it finally happens! Harlow and Silas finally get together and get the happiness that they both deserve.

I just loved this book! Wendy NEVER disappoints me and heck, it may even be my favorite. (The Sweets Series is still up there)

New York Times bestselling author Amanda Hocking concludes the magical world of the Trylle with The Ever After, the final book in her last Trylle arc.

Nestled along the bluffs of the forested coast lies the secret kingdom of the Omte--a realm filled with wonder...and as many secrets.

The Ever After closes the last trilogy of the long-running Trylle series.

My Review:  I LOVED this book.

It's time Ulla finally got the answers so she needs/deserves. First, by figuring out how to uncover the concealed memories. Finn picks her up when she arrives back home. He and his family welcome her back home and help her to figure everything out. Finn gets her someone who can help to recover some memories and together they figure out why a children's book is so important.

Ulla, Pan and the rest of the crew won't stop until things come to light. Ulla's sister finally comes back into the picture and bring some friends with her. Friends who happen to match the same folks listed in the children's book and happen to know about her mother.

As we get to the end, the pace and risks pick up. They finally made it to their destination, just not soon enough. With the help of friends and all the troll kingdoms, it may not be enough. Monsters were released and lives will be lost, especially those who are dear to us.

When the dust settles and the first bridge is taken care of, the calm can start to set in. Not only does Ulla get answers and a surprise, but she gets to start a new life with Pan in the human world.

I'm sad to see this series end, it's the first series I've picked by up Amanda, and she gave it a wonderful ending.

Weekly Spotlight - House of Night Otherworld

House of Night: Other world

It’s Zoey’s eighteenth birthmas and the Nerd Herd has been scattered across the country busily adulting for almost a year when Stark calls them back to Tulsa to surprise Z. But all is not well in T-town. Strange, dark signs are appearing—could it be possible Neferet is stirring? Not willing to chance disaster striking again, Zoey calls on her newly reunited friends to circle with her and add a layer of protection over Neferet’s grotto jail. Easy-peasy, right?

Wrong. Nothing at the House of Night is ever as it seems.

With rabid red vampyres closing in, Zoey and the Nerd Herd must come together again and battle evil. But a year is a long time. Have these old friends grown too far apart?

When the world fractures and allies become enemies, will darkness devour friendships or will light save those she’s loved?

Things have settled down at the Tulsa House of Night since Zoey and the gang closed the tear between worlds and sent Other Kevin back to the Other World. Neferet hasn't stirred. Damien and Jack are falling in love all over again. Stevie Rae and Rephaim are back in Tulsa where they belong. The Depot Restaurant is being rebuilt with the enthusiastic involvement of local humans. A new school year has begun, and Zoey's exchange student program with public schools is really taking off. All is well. But if all is well, why is Zoey increasingly withdrawn and moody?Sadly, Stark is sure he knows the answer to that question. Zoey can't stop thinking about following her brother to the Other World, and Stark isn't deluding himself about why. Of course she wants to be sure her brother is okay. Of course she wants to help defeat Neferet in yet another world and be sure the balance between Light and Darkness is restored. But the real reason Z is so drawn to that other House of Night world is because Heath Luck, her childhood sweetheart, is alive in that world-alive and mourning her death. In Lost, we follow Zoey, Stevie Rae, and Rephaim to an alternative version of the House of Night, where dangers take the form of friends and allies are found in the strangest places. Will Z return to our world and leave Heath to his? And if she does, will Stark forgive her for leaving? Find out in the second part of this exciting new House of Night Other World adventure!

Before he was freed by Neferet, Kalona was imprisoned within the earth for centuries because of the Darkness in his heart. But what happened to the Other World's Kalona? It's as though he's been forgotten, or maybe he never existed at all

In the present, Other Neferet may have left her House of Night, but she has far from given up her goal of immortality and world domination. As she operates in secret to gain access to Old Magick, the new High Priestess, Anastasia Langford, works toward peace and acceptance for the vampyres of the Other World. But just as Other Kevin's broken heart will take time to heal, peace in that world will also take time and work--and not all of the Other World vampyres want peace. After all, why should they return to being shunned by humans, especially when they've had a taste of how it feels to be in power?

Meanwhile, Zoey is desperate to help rid the Other World of Neferet once and for all, and not knowing what's going on over there is eating away at her. But, as the Nerd Herd warns, it's far too dangerous to call on Old Magick time and again. As a distraction, she throws herself into her work and attempts to bring the humans and vampyres of Tulsa closer together with the first human-vampyre swim meet in history! It's too bad that something always seems to go wrong whenever the stakes are high.

What happens when worlds clash and powers that should be left alone are awakened? Can Other Kevin and his world heal from the wounds Neferet continues to inflict? Can Old Magick ever truly be harnessed and used for good? Or will Darkness extinguish Light and leave our heroes broken, hopeless, and as forgotten as Kalona of the Silver Wings? Don't miss this second to last volume in the House of Night Other World saga!
My Review

Fog rolls into Tulsa, and with it comes Darkness. Zoey knows something is up, and that the something involves Neferet, but Neferet can t possibly be freed, right?
Other Neferet and her companion, Lynette, arrive in Woodward Park to set this world s Neferet free from her grotto prison, and discover there may be those who sympathize with their cause. Meanwhile, Other Kevin and Other Stark are hot on their trail, but how can the new friends travel to this world without invoking Old Magick and paying a costly, perhaps deadly, price?
In Found, the culmination of the House of Night Other World series, a surprisingly talented fledgling, an immortal, and the unlikeliest of allies will band together with Zoey and the Nerd Herd. Will they be powerful enough to defeat her old nemesis, or will two worlds be destroyed and claimed by Darkness? Find out in the thrilling conclusion to the House of Night Other World series!

Book: Rebel #3
Publisher: Jester Creations, LLC
Pub Date: March 2, 2019
Genre: New Adult
Format: eBook

The final breathtaking installment in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams’s REBEL series.

Protecting people isn’t simply my job—it’s engrained in me.
It doesn’t atone for my countless sins.
There’s no washing the blood off my hands after a lifetime in the mob.

I just want to save those who can’t save themselves.

Then Sutton Larson came at me with diamond-encrusted heels.
She’s judgmental and guarded and the most infuriating woman I’ve ever met.

Gaining her trust is nearly impossible. Protecting her is anything but easy. When she becomes more than a job, our passion builds like a brutal storm—beautiful and consuming.

But we have an expiration date made of lies and betrayals and lethal games.

One we thought we could outlive.
And it’s taunting us for thinking we could.

My name’s Conor Kennedy. I’ve lost enough people in my life . . . I refuse to lose her.

My Review: Conor is all business. His job is to protect Sutton and her daughter at all costs. He even looks strong and powerful, but if you really got to know him, he’s quite gentle and kind.

Sutton is stubborn and well, she does have a right to be. Her husband is not the man she really knew, and she finally had the courage and help to get away from him and his messed-up games. She and Lexi have a chance at a good and normal life.

Watching Sutton and Conor communicate could be amusing at times. But the start to their change in relationship began when Lexi went MIA and left the hotel. Once safe and sound, things changed, and they changed fast.

As things moved on, other characters from the earlier books come along and take part in this mission. It really brings everything together, as every character throughout the series has been amazing.

When Sutton and Conor finally realized what they have and gave in, it truly brought out the feels even more. It’s just how Molly does it, creates these stories that make it impossible to put down until the very last word.

Genre: Young Adult
Format: eARC

New York Times bestselling author Amanda Hocking returns to the magical world of the Trylle with The Morning Flower, the second book in the Omte Origins arc.

Welcome back to the kingdom of the Omte—a forest realm where secrets and danger, human nature and ancient mythology collide.

Where truth is stranger than fiction.
Searching for answers to her own shrouded origins, Ulla Tulin’s journey of exploration takes a sudden turn when Eliana is kidnapped. Turning toward the Omte capital instead of the institute where she hoped to learn the truth about her identity, Ulla must put Eliana’s welfare before her own—a sacrifice that will present all new dangers to them both.

When history is still unwritten.
Ulla never expected that once she arrived she’d discover the identity of a Skojare man who crossed paths with her mother—a man who could very well be her father. Given the man’s connections to the Älvolk, a secret society tasked with protecting the location of the First City, Ulla is soon dispatched to Sweden to find him.

One woman will dare to go wherever fate will take her…
Now Ulla, along with her maybe boyfriend Pan, finds herself on a desperate race against time to locate her kin—who could very well pose a danger to her kingdom. Nobody and nothing is as it seems as she penetrates the dark heart of the Älvolk…all the way to the secret Lost Bridge to the First City, where an unknown future awaits for Ulla and her kind.
My Review: Eeeeeeek! There are too many words to described my love for this world and how each one is better than the last. Anyway, Ulla's journey continues and we finally get answers to many questions from the first book.
Ulla and Pan take time to go search for answers to both Ulla's life and what might have happened to her friend. The start of the trip was a little awkward after finding out Pan's friend they will be staying with is a girl, well his ex really. Throughout the trip, Ulla doesn't gain too much information. She does get to meet with the Queen, get info on a man who maybe knows about the hidden bridge and so on. So after a few days they head back home.
Now back home, they go back to work and continue to look for answers. Then just as quickly as they got back, they get sent back out along with a few other folks as ambassadors. What Ulla gets this time is an overload of information. Her mothers name, meets her dad, her missing friend is more than just a friend and things don't slow down from there.
I can't wait to dive into the next book, even if it may mean the end of a world I've come love.

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men series comes an irresistible and suspenseful romance between a doctor who plays by the rules and the outlaw who breaks them in order to protect her.

Dr. Presley Baskin has always lived a quiet, calm life. Unfortunately, nothing about her life in Loveless, Texas -- especially not the wild, rowdy, and impossibly close-knit Lawton family who've claimed her -- is quiet or calm. Which is how loner Presley finds herself roped into patching up local bad boy Shot Caldwell against her better judgment. Presley wants nothing to do with the dangerous, brooding leader of the local outlaw motorcycle club. But when someone starts stalking her, Shot is the only person she trusts to help. Plus he owes her one . . .

Palmer 'Shot' Caldwell has always known his life isn't made for relationships. At least until shy, secretive, Presley reluctantly pulled a bullet out of him. He's oddly protective of the pretty doctor, so when she comes to him for help, hard-hearted Shot suddenly realizes there's nothing he wouldn't do to keep her safe.

Falling in love was asking for trouble.

Meeting a hot professor at my best friend's wedding has hookup written all over it.

Meet Stacy

It’s a rough world out there, and we all sometimes need a good, romantic beach read, even if we can’t make it to the beach. I’ve spent many lazy days walking the streets of Paris and other gorgeous European cities, and if I’m doing it right, I’m bringing you a dash of romance and a vacay fantasy.
I can’t sit still, so when I’m not hiking, biking or running, I’m playing a very average game of tennis. Background music for writing undoubtedly features some U2, Lizzo, Billy Joel, Pink, Taylor Swift, and Led Zeppelin. Not necessarily in that order. And if I could only eat one food group, it would be cheese. Or wine. Or bread. Are those food groups? Whatever.
